Student Network Member Spotlight: Natalie Hazzard

Hey Gamecocks! My name is Natalie Hazzard and I am a Sophomore at UofSC, majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Business Administration and Medical Humanities. I am from Boiling Springs, South Carolina, which is only about an hour and a half up the road from UofSC. Therefore, weekend trips home are very fun and I love seeing and getting to hangout with my family (especially my little niece)!

When I got accepted into UofSC, it was a no-brainer that I would come here and study Biology with the hope of attending the University of South Carolina School of Medicine to study at the Physician Assistant Program. Becoming a physician's assistant has always been a dream of mine growing up, and one day I would love to make this dream become a reality. With big aspirations of becoming a physician’s assistant, I knew I would need to start acquiring patient hours, so during this past summer I received my CNA certification and started volunteering at Prisma Health Baptist downtown.

Landing an internship with My Carolina Alumni Association was a goal of mine because it gave me a reason to stay in Columbia for the summer and spend some quality time exploring the great city of Columbia! Specifically, being an intern with the Student Alumni Association gave me an opportunity to expand my marketing and communication skills and work with a great group of people.

Being a member of the Student Alumni Association has led to multiple opportunities to network with alumni and meet new friends from all different walks of life. My favorite thing about being a member is by far the t-shirts that are given for lots of home games! They are always so unique and cute, changing each pickup event. It is always fun to look forward to picking them up. Come and join the Alumni Association today!

To the incoming freshman, just remember to be true to yourself and don’t let the hustle and bustle of college life change who you are! We are all made to be unique individuals that were blessed with their own special gifts and talents. I hope UofSC blesses you as much as it has blessed me!

As always, GO GAMECOCKS!
