Meet Garnet Circle member Zach Greene! Zach is a senior finance and operations supply chain major at the University of South Carolina. Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Zach comes from a proud Gamecock family.
“I went to a really small high school, so I knew I wanted to go to a big school. Both my parents went here, and I grew up going to a lot of football games. It was an easy choice for me because I have been a South Carolina fan pretty much my whole life.”
On campus, Zach is a member of the Carolina Finance and Investment Association (CFIA), which is a student run organization for those interested in finance. He is also a member of Supply Chain and Operations Excellency (SCOPE), which is a student run organization to help students learn about the growing trends in the supply chain field. Zach is also a proud member of Garnet Circle, which governs the Student Network.
“The reason I joined Garnet Circle was because I wanted to meet new people and become more involved on campus. I knew joining the largest student ran organization would give me the opportunity to accomplish those goals and be able to give back to this University that has given me so much.”
Being a part of the Student Network has given Zach many opportunities to contribute to university traditions. One of his favorite memories is being on the t-shirt committee for the popular BEAT t-shirts. Whether new or old, these traditions Garnet Circle upholds play an integral part for providing a great South Carolina student experience.
“What makes UofSC special to me is the people. We all come from a wide range of places with many different backgrounds, but we all come together with one common goal, to make this university better for everyone one involved. That translates to everyone involved in this university from future to current students as well as Alumni.”
