Meet Garnet Circle member Julia Vogel! Julia is a sophomore sports and entertainment major from Laplata, Maryland. Julia wanted to attend the University of South Carolina because the rigor of the sports management program. She was also inspired to attend the university that her brother, a UofSC student, loves.
“My favorite part about being a UofSC student is the family that comes along with it. Being from MD, I am constantly reminded of how much UofSC connects people from all over! It’s home to me, everyone here is proud of be a Gamecock.”
Julia is the Community Director for her sorority Gamma Phi Beta and is also a member of the New Student Union steering committee on campus, which serves to re-establish the Russell House. Being active on campus inspired her to learn more about the alumni relations.
“I wanted to be able to help connect students and alumni! I worked as an intern in my high school development office and loved the interactions I had with alumni.”
Julia decided to join Garnet Circle, which build relationships among generations of Gamecocks and keeps UofSC traditions alive. Some of these traditions include planning prestigious events like the Ring Ceremony and Grad Dine.
