Meet Garnet Circle member Lauren Hall! Originally from Hughesville, Pennsylvania, Lauren knew South Carolina was the right university for her because of the campus environment.
“I decided to attend UofSC because it felt like home to me. Transitioning from a small northern town to a large southern city seemed like a big adjustment, but my Gamecock family made me feel welcome!”
Being a business major, Lauren acknowledged how much she loves the Darla Moore School of Business and all it has to offer. One opportunity she experienced with the business school was studying abroad in Spain and Peru.
“UofSC is special to me because it never feels like you're left out of something. There's something for everyone to get involved in no matter how big or small, and there's always a presence of those organizations on campus. It's awesome to see change happen because of students.”
On campus, Lauren is involved in many organizations. She is the Secretary of the Women's Quad Hall Government in the Residence Hall Association, a Business Council Member, a Peer Financial Consultant, a volunteer for Service Saturday and a member of the Garnet Circle Marketing Committee.
Garnet Circle’s role of fostering relationships between the University of South Carolina students and members of the Alumni Association is what made Lauren know she wanted to join. Garnet Circle is also the leadership board of the Student Network. Lauren’s favorite part about being a Student Network member is connecting to a large network of alumni and attending exclusive and fun events.
“Garnet Circle is a unique opportunity for me to foster my leadership skills in a big way. I love the fact the Student Network is the largest student organization on campus and connects students with alumni!”
